When it comes to healthy eating, it’s your overall dietary pattern that’s important and should be what to focus on, rather than single nutrients. Here I look at some key components to include, and other things to reduce or limit.
The three primary macronutrients are; protein, carbohydrates (carbs) and fats (fatty acids). Micronutrients are the vitamins and minerals in our diets. But, we don’t eat nutrients in isolation. Foods are made up of a combination of macro and micronutrients, plus we usually eat them as part of a mixed meal.
