Can I…

It’s frustrating that there is still so much misinformation with food ‘rules’, and scaremongering about including specific foods (or whole food groups) within your diet. It’s unsurprising this leaves people confused, and questions like these are still so common.

Whether you lose weight will always come back to your energy balance, and whether you are in, yep you know where I’m going, a *calorie deficit*. However, how you do that is completely up to you. Lots of people use the money budgeting analogy. If you spend more on, let’s say luxuries 😏, (ie chocolate or cocktails!), then you have less left to spend on everything else. But you absolutely can include them. Plus including these will help the negative side from being overly restrictive – which may lead to binging on the thing you cut out.

I’ve included cardio on here too, as lots of people still feel the need to kill themselves on a treadmill to ‘justify’ a donut. Firstly the benefits of exercise are far reaching, outside of weight manipulation. Also generally your diet and NEAT will have a bigger effect on your energy balance than exercise, unless you’re a professional athlete!

If there are any misconceptions around your diet leave a comment or send me a DM and I’m happy to try and clear up any uncertainties you have.
