Cookie Cutter Plans

Cookie Cutter Plans are one-off plans that are often a fixed price and length, and not customised. They’re a generic one plan for everyone. For example “Get fit in 28 days”, “Lose weight with this 14 day meal plan” etc etc. Yes some people will get results. But for others I may as well tell you to eat less and move more. I mean that’s all you need to do to lose weight and get shredded, right?

Broken down yes that is technically accurate. But it’s also incredibly unhelpful advice as within those four words there is zero help or guidance on to how to do it or where to start. Cookie cutter plans will give you a framework. But as it’s not made for you it won’t take into account your current condition, how it fits into your routine, or whether you like what’s included.

Coaching

Coaching is about finding out about YOU, as an individual. Because what works for one person may not work for another. For example a working mother of three in her 40’s is almost certainly not going to have the same amount of free time in her week as a single woman in her 20’s. She’s probably not got the same goals either. Now both *could* see results from a basic 28 day plan, if they can adhere to it. But it’s unlikely to be the *best* option for either.

That’s why what MNU teach is so much more than “just” nutrition. It’s here are the fundamentals, so you understand the science & the basic mechanisms. Here’s how to read research so you continue to develop & keep your knowledge up to date. Then on top of that they teach how to actually apply it to an individual. That’s so important if we are to help people.

That’s not telling you to eat less and exercise more. It’s looking at your lifestyle, & working out how within that we can help you make changes to achieve whatever your personal goal is. It’s giving you guidance & support, and being there throughout to keep you accountable.

Have you noticed how a lot of coaches and PT’s themselves have coaches? We’re perfectly capable of writing our own plans. But we know following what someone else has planned helps keep us accountable and on track with our own progress too.
