I never posted a module 6 summary. Partly as this time there’s no end of module quiz, as we’re knee deep with revision and mocks, with the exams looming large on the horizon!
This was an interesting module – on performance nutrition. For those who don’t know me, I’m a massive sports fan. I follow loads of different sports; football, American football, F1, MMA to name just a few. Looking at these from a nutritional standpoint provides a different perspective.
However, to be honest, for whatever reason this module didn’t click with me quite as much as I thought it would. I actually took more from the previous module on clinical populations – which if you’d told me beforehand I’d not have believed.
That said, I’ve spent less time reading around the subjects, which I usually do to help cement and better understand new information. Also I haven’t covered them for posts here, which again is when I go down a few rabbits holes to expand on what the lectures cover. In fairness I have a huge backlog of ideas which I’m working through, so I’ll get to them in the hopefully not too distant future! Once we get through the exams they’ll be plenty of time for that.
I still need to better prioritise my work and what I focus on. But some things never change!
Exams! The period to take them starts on Monday, and we then have three weeks to take all four. Right now it’s revision quizzes, lecture quizzes, mocks and case study prep. The case studies are where I’m most nervous. They do tell us the 6 general areas they are on; muscle gain is one, and that’s what I’m revising today in the second image. FYI Brad Schoenfeld’s book is amazing!
There’s a part of me that doesn’t feel ready, but I’m getting there and fingers crossed my prep will be enough to do well! The other part wants to get on and take them already! Regardless of the final result I’ve learnt so much over the last year, met so many amazing people, and I’m so glad I signed up to MNU. No regrets.
